What this site is

Four hundred-odd lists of funny names, sorted by the thing you are actually naming — a dog, a WiFi network, a trivia team, a boat, a bakery, a playlist, a character in a game you will play for six hundred hours. Plus a generator for when none of the lists have it and you want something nobody has used.

Everything is free. There is no account, no paywall, no download, and no ten-paragraph story before you get to the names.

How the lists get made

Each list is written by hand rather than scraped or spun. A name earns its place if it clears four checks: it can be said once without stumbling, spelled once without repeating, explained in about four words, and still holds up printed on a trophy or read out by a vet receptionist.

Names that only work as text — the ones that need a specific font, an emoji, or a very particular mood — do not make it in. They are funny for about a day.

What this site is not

It is not a naming consultancy, and it does not check trademarks, domain availability or whether someone in your league already used it. If you are naming a real business, run the name past a search engine and a lawyer before you paint it on a van.
